Adelaide and the Melbourne Renegades have each received boosts ahead of Monday's crunch Big Bash clash, with Australian players released to return to their clubs for the match.

Travis Head and Alex Carey, both flew directly to Melbourne on Sunday for the Etihad Stadium clash to represent the Strikers after being left out of Australia's one-day side to face England.

Cameron White will also return for the Renegades after he was offered the opportunity to fly home early on Monday morning and play in the crunch clash before the national squad regroups in Adelaide on Wednesday.

Renegades opener Aaron Finch, who has played a significant role in Australia's one-day series, will not be available for the Melbourne side due to personal matters.

However they will also welcome back Brad Hodge from a side strain and Kieron Pollard from West Indies representative duties,

The trio's inclusion is crucial for the Renegades, who sit fourth on the ladder and equal on points with the fifth and sixth-placed Sydney Thunder and Brisbane, albeit with two games in hand.

They face both those teams in their last two games, meaning they risk dropping out of the finals if they do not win at least two of their last three.

White has the highest batting average in this summer's domestic T20 competition, having whacked 285 runs at 142.50 before he was called into the national squad for the injured Chris Lynn.

Meanwhile, Adelaide can wrap up a home final with victory on Monday night, as a win will put them first on net-run rate ahead of Perth and four points clear of third-placed Hobart.
