IOOF insider trading investigation dropped

ASIC has dropped an investigation over insider trading allegations against financial service provider IOOF finding there was no effect on securities involved

The corporate watchdog has ended its inquiry into financial service provider IOOF, dropping allegations of insider trading.

ASIC began the investigation into IOOF after allegations were made by former employees claiming a staff member had traded securities prior to releasing research reports concerning the same securities.

ASIC found the reports had no direct effect on the securities and decided to take no further action over the allegations but entered an agreement with the company to conduct a review of of its compliance arrangements.
