In a bid to bring in foreign currency and revamp its international image, Iran is opening up to tourists.

Iran is overhauling immigration rules to relax or abolish visa requirements for the majority of foreign visitors.

It hopes to see a spike in tourist numbers over the next three months, with Chinese visitors a priority.

Middle East expert from the University of Adelaide, Associate Professor Felix Patrikeeff told Sonja Heydeman Iran's moved quickly to put out the international welcome mat.
