Iran, US hold 'positive' nuclear talks

For the first time, Iranian and American ministers have sat together at talks aimed at reining in the Islamic republic's nuclear program.

World powers will meet again for talks with Iran on its suspect nuclear program on October 15 and 16 in Geneva after a "positive meeting", the EU's foreign policy chief says.

Foreign ministers who joined unprecedented talks at the United Nations on Thursday had asked Tehran to respond to their proposals before next month's discussions, the EU's Catherine Ashton told reporters after the meeting.
