Is too much being made of holy book burning?

A Queensland laywer has been criticised for burning pages of the Koran and the Bible in a YouTube video, while a US pastor threatened to set fire to a copy of the Koran on the anniversary of September 11. But issues of free speech and sensitivity aside, is too much simply being made of such 'stunts'?
