Israel is extending a humanitarian ceasefire in its military campaign in Gaza for another 24 hours.

The Israeli cabinet agreed late on Saturday to prolong its pause in fighting "until midnight Sunday" (0700 Monday AEST) in line with a UN request, a government official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
