Israeli army shoots two 'entering Golan'

The Israeli military says it has shot and hit two armed suspects in the Golan Heights.

The Israeli military says it has shot and hit two armed suspects from Syria who crossed into the Israeli-held Golan Heights.

The Israeli army said the two suspects were discovered entering the Israeli side of the border and tampering with the security barrier along the frontier.

The army would not comment on their condition.

The incident late on Friday took place in the central Golan Heights.

Earlier this month, a roadside bombing in the Golan Heights wounded four Israeli soldiers on patrol along the tense frontier with Syria.
