The vote of Australian-Italians could prove pivotal as Italy prepares for what's being described as one of its closest elections.

In what might appear a somewhat quirky electoral system, seats in parliament give voice to Italians living abroad. And in Australia, more than 100,000 voters form part of an electorate including Asia, Africa, Oceania and Antarctica.
