The Greens have accused Donald Trump of snubbing Malcolm Turnbull after the US president cut short a planned meeting with the prime minister in New York.

It was embarrassing for Mr Turnbull, who has flown halfway across the world, to be stuck in some waiting room while a "dangerous and deranged" president was celebrating the appeal of Obamacare in Washington, leader Richard Di Natale said.

"It says everything about the relationship we've got with the US," he told ABC radio on Friday.
