It's the economy: Vote Compass survey

Industrial relations - the government's reason for calling the July 2 double-dissolution election - is close to the bottom of important voter issues.

The economy is the number one election campaign issue with 250,000 respondents to the ABC's Vote Compass website.

But industrial relations - the government's reason for calling the July 2 double-dissolution election - is close to the bottom of the pile of what matters to voters.

The first results generated by the online survey has the economy as the most important issue with 18 per cent of respondents, followed by education (14pc), health care and environment (13pc), retirement/seniors (12pc) and immigration and asylum seekers (11pc).
