Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic has become the fourth grand slam winner to enter the Sydney International field after she was given a wildcard into the tournament.

Ivanovic's elimination in the first round at the Auckland Classic, where she crashed out in straight sets to Brit Naomi Broady, looked set to curtail her preparation for the Australian Open.

But the world No. 16 will join Petra Kvitova, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Sam Stosur as major-winning women in the field, which boasts four of the world's top 10 women.
