Japan and Australia sign MOU on sports

Australia and Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding on sports, with Malcolm Turnbull saying he looks forward to the next Rugby World Cup.

Australia and Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding on sports during a visit by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Trumbull made the announcement after meeting with Mr Abe on Saturday for discussions focused on trade and regional security.

"Both our nations share a love of sport," Mr Turnbull said, adding he looked forward to the next Rugby World Cup, to be held in Japan.
