Actress Jennifer Lawrence has faced a backlash from viewers for her behaviour towards a foreign reporter at the Golden Globe Awards yesterday.

During her press conference after the Golden Globes ceremony, Jennifer Lawrence called out a reporter for being on his phone.
A calendar event for the Hollywood Foreign Press, the press conference was made up of several international journalists, for some of whom English is not their first language.

It can be heard the reporter had an accent and may have been looking to his phone to guide him through his questioning.

It is also common for journalists to use their phones to report, write up, and file stories, which may have also been what this reporter was doing.

"You can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro," Lawrence said when the reporter looked down to his phone as she answered his question.

Lawerence's frustration continued when the reporter's line of questioning turned to the Oscars.

"We're at the Golden Globes... if you put your phone down, you'd know that," she added.

The Golden Globes are seen as a litmus test for the Oscars, with winners at this ceremony standing good chances of Academy Award nominations later in the year.

Viewers have hit out at Lawrence, calling her behaviour towards the reporter rude and insensitive.
