Jesus Christ Superstar the hottest Messiah

A new magazine poll has named Ted Neely's Jesus Christ Superstar the hottest Messiah on stage and screen.

Ted Neely, America's original Jesus Christ Superstar, has topped a new magazine poll on the hottest Messiah on stage and screen.

Neely, who led the musical's cast in the early 1970s, has beaten Hollywood's latest Jesus, Son of God star Diogo Morgado, and The Passion of the Christ's Jim Caviezel in the Globe magazine poll.

Morgado also portrayed the Lord in the 2013 TV epic The Bible.

Also making the top five: Christian Bale, who portrayed Christ in 1999's Mary, Mother of Jesus; Jesus of Nazareth's Robert Powell; while Willem Dafoe in The Last Temptation of Christ and Jeremy Sisto's Jesus make the top 10.
