As rivals, they provided the iconic moment of the inaugural NRL Women's Premiership.

Now together as Jillaroos teammates, Jess Sergis and Julia Robinson hope to create more highlights on international debut in Saturday's Auckland Test against New Zealand.

This time though the pair hope it is a lot less painful.

Brisbane winger Robinson and St George Illawarra star Sergis provided the "viral moment" of the maiden NRLW competition when they clashed heads in a brutal collision in their first round showdown.

Both players were lauded for their toughness after a wobbly Sergis battled with trainers to try to stay on the field following the sickening clash while Robinson was left with an ugly egg on her forehead.

Unlike Sergis, Robinson stayed on the field and was unconcerned about her head knock before she saw big screen vision of the huge lump while being treated on the field, prompting a belly laugh from the unflappable flyer.

"It was a big head knock. But I didn't think it would go as viral as it did - I got so many messages," Dragons centre Sergis said after joining the Jillaroos camp in Brisbane.

"To be honest I don't remember a lot. All I remember is trying to get over there and tackle her but she was a bit too strong and quick for me.

"It knocked me straight on my chin. I can tick that off my bucket list now, I have never had that happen to me before."

Sergis said there were no hard feelings before she lined up alongside Robinson in the world No.1 Jillaroos' new-look backline.

"These things happen. She is strong and quick and knows a lot about the game so I can't wait for everyone to see what she is like," she said.

Sergis and Robinson are among six rookies in the 18-strong squad for the Jillaroos who went through 2017 undefeated, defending the Rugby League World Cup title.

The Jillaroos fly out from their Brisbane camp for Auckland on Tuesday.
