Comedian Jim Carrey has been sharing his artistic commentary on America’s gun violence for a while, but his two latest cartoon tweets have caused a bit of a stir.

The actor is no stranger to targeting the Trump administration but more recently he’s aimed his commentary at an Ohio university graduate who posted a photo of her on campus with a semi-automatic rifle slung over her shoulder.
Kaitlin Bennett’s photo of her posing with a graduation cap and AR-10 rifle along with the message “come and take it” sparked criticism last week that the image was in poor taste.

Critics include victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida.
Ms Bennett, 22, defended her choice.

On Friday, Carrey tweeted his version of the photo following another fatal school shooting in Texas.

He included the caption “And the devil said: 'Thanks a bunch Goldilocks. Enjoy the show in Santa Fe tomorrow. Someday, real soon, I’ll have you for dinner'.”

The art depicts Ms Bennett in front of a face assumed to be the “devil”.

But Ms Bennett didn’t hold back in her response to his tweet, slamming it as “disgusting”.
“Jim you should be the one in this picture with this caption. You’re the one that supports gun control policies that let these kids die. Is this what you have to do because you’ve become irrelevant? Disgusting," she wrote.

Carrey later followed up his gun debate commentary with another artwork. This time the actor offered a new “Pledge of Allegiance” alongside an image of a bullet-ridden classroom.

“New Pledge for a Generation Betrayed,” he wrote alongside it.

Several of his recent works have targeted gun violence in America, the NRA and US President Donald Trump.

The new pledge tweet attracted almost 48,000 since it was shared on May 21.
