Jobs ads grow for 12 months in a row

Department of Employment figures show job ads on the internet have grown for 12 consecutive months for the first time since March 2011.

Job advertising on the internet has grown for 12 straight months, something that hasn't occurred in over six years and which is seen as a further positive sign for an already perky employment market.

Department of Employment figures released on Wednesday showed jobs ads on the internet rose by 0.5 per cent in October for an 8.4 per cent increase over the year.

Jobs ads grew in five of the eight occupational groups monitored by the department in October.
