Jobs ads lift in October: survey

The number of job ads improved solidly in October, after a relatively flat September.

The number of jobs advertised in newspapers and online lifted by one per cent in October, following almost no change in September, according to the latest job ads data from the ANZ bank.

In seasonally adjusted terms, the number of job advertisements in October was up by 5.2 per cent from a year earlier.

ANZ economists say that in trend terms, job ads lifted by 0.4 per cent in October, slightly below the rise of 0.5 per cent in September.
