With a Little Help From My Friends

The BBC reported that the former gas fitter was propelled to pop stardom when his version of this Beatles' classic reached number one in the charts in 1968. His performance at Woodstock festival in 1969 would be talked about in years to come. Cocker's "spasmodic style" was parodied by the late actor John Belushi on the comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live.

You Can Leave Your Hat On

Written by Randy Newman, this song became a hit after it was featured in the 1980s romantic film 9½ Weeks.

Unchain My Heart

This Bobby Sharp song was first recorded in 1961 by Ray Charles but was popularised by Cocker in 1987. It was also the title of his 11th studio album.

Cry Me a River

Not to be confused as with Justin Timberlake's 2002 single, Cocker's 1970's version offered a very different take on Julie London's hit.

You Are So Beautiful

Written by Billy Preston, Bruce Fisher and Dennis Wilson, this ballad is from his 1974 album I Can Stand a Little Pain.
