Former US Secretary of State John Kerry is coming to Melbourne to troubleshoot how to feed the world amid a changing climate.
Mr Kerry will join agricultural and food industry leaders to look at how the way we eat is likely to change as the world's population booms and global warming accelerates.
The Global Table conference in September is set to cover issues including food waste, agricultural practices and the rise of plant-based protein.
"The world is on the cusp of a revolution in food and agriculture," Mr Kerry said in a statement.
"We have to make radical changes to ensure the prosperity of future generations. That's not a bad thing. It's an exciting time to be part of these industries."
Mr Kerry is among 150 speakers expected at Melbourne's Global Table conference, running from September 3-6.
He was US Secretary of State between 2013 and 2017, and a key architect of the 2015 Paris climate accord aimed at keeping global warming below 2C.
