John Oliver announced he was "done" with hosting US TV show Last Week Tonight after he achieved his "one and only goal" - having a "koala chlamydia ward" named after him.
The TV host made the declaration after a prank involving actor Russell Crowe and the Irwin family.
The prank came after Mr Oliver revealed in April that he had submitted the mystery $7,000 bid for Mr Crowe's jockstrap, a piece he wore in the movie Cinderella Man.

The jockstrap was being sold as part of the actor's "Art of Divorce" auction.
"We absolutely did [buy it]," Oliver joked before yelling "are you not entertained" in a throwback to Mr Crowe in Gladiator.
The comedian then donated the jockstrap to the last remaining Blockbuster Video store in America.
In response, Mr Crowe thanked Mr Oliver and said he would be looking at how to best use the jockstrap cash.
He remained silent on his plans for a few weeks until he eventually shared a video of the Irwin family's latest announcement about Australia Zoo.
In the video Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin thanked Mr Crowe for his donation to the zoo - which they said would be going towards a koala chlamydia ward.
They then thanked Mr Oliver for buying the jockstrap - before unveiling a plaque reading: "The John Oliver Koala Chlamydia Ward".
Mr Oliver reacted to the name on Last Week Tonight.

"Back when this show started I wrote down my one and only goal for it. It was a simple goal it was just three words long," he said before revealing a piece paper that read "Koala Chlamydia Ward".
"So essentially what I am saying is we have accomplished everything we have set out to achieve on this show, which means thanks very much everyone but we are f****g done here."
Mr Oliver was joking about his departure from the show - but it still caused a stir on social media with some unsure if he was serious about quitting.
