Johnson takes two Tas wickets in Shield

Tasmania are 5-102 at stumps on day two in reply to Western Australia's 432 in the Sheffield Shield with Mitchell Johnson taking two wickets.

Mitchell Johnson has proven to be a damaging force for Western Australia in their Sheffield Shield clash with Tasmania, as the paceman fires up for Australia's three-Test series against New Zealand.

The fast bowler is a certain inclusion in the squad to be named by Australian selectors on Friday, ahead of the opening Test starting next Thursday in Brisbane.

Johnson took 2-30 on Thursday, helping to have the Tigers struggling at 5-102 at stumps in reply to WA's first-innings total of 8(dec)-432.

His first victim was Ben Dunk (seven) who edged a full-pitched delivery to wicketkeeper Sam Whiteman, leaving Tassie at 1-14.

Fellow opener Dominic Michael (43) looked settled at the crease, finding the boundary seven times until Johnson struck, again taking an edge with Whiteman finishing the job.

Tasmanian youngster Jake Doran (five) made his first-class debut but the outing was short as he was trapped lbw trying to pull a Jason Behrendorff (2-18) delivery.

The Warriors' left-armer later accounted for James Faulkner (one), who skied a ball to be caught in the midfield.

Tigers No.3 Alex Doolan (13) was bowled by Simon Mackin (1-28).

Mitch Marsh (0-9) bowled eight overs for WA including five maidens.

Tasmania were inconsistent scoring runs, at one stage going seven overs without scoring.

WA's big total was due mainly to Michael Klinger who finished with an unbeaten 202.

The knock included a 214-run partnership with Ashton Agar (105) who notched up his maiden first-class century.

Along with a 153-run effort with skipper Adam Voges (71), Klinger's total helped revive WA's batting effort which stalled early at 3-31.
