Jon Stewart has farewelled audiences after 16 years at the helm of satirical news show, The Daily Show.
Stewart gave an energised speech to conclude the episode, in which he urged audiences to search for the truth in front of them.
"Bulls–t is everywhere," he said. "There is very little that you will encounter in life that has not been in some way infused with bulls–t."
"Whenever something's been titled 'Freedom, Family, Fairness, Health, America', take a good long sniff. It may contain traces of bulls–t."
Stewart was also joined by guests including Steve Carell, Hillary Clinton and Stephen Colbert.
Carell, who formerly worked on the show, joked that he had never really left.
"Becoming an international superstar is just something I did while waiting for my next assignment," he said.
