Jones takes the lead in last in-doubt seat

Incumbent Liberal MP Ewen Jones has taken the lead in counting for the Queensland seat of Herbert for the first time since the federal election.

Incumbent Liberal MP Ewen Jones is ahead in his Queensland seat for the first time since the federal election.

Herbert is the last seat in doubt, with Mr Jones overtaking Labor's Cathy O'Toole to hold a 113 vote lead on Wednesday afternoon.

But LNP Senator Ian Macdonald says there is still a way to go, tweeting: "Too early for euphoria yet".
