A Jordanian man has gone on trial accused of threatening to kill Australian tourists and blow up the Australian embassy in Amman, in messages sent through his Facebook account.
Ali al-Hasanat, who faces up to 15 years in jail if found guilty, denied any wrongdoing during the hearing of the state security court in Amman.
The 37-year-old has been accused of using the internet "to carry out activity that could expose Jordan to acts of aggression".
The charge sheet alleges that in January he sent a message through his Facebook account to the Australian embassy in Amman "threatening to blow it up".
A "picture of a bullet" was said to have been attached to the message.
