Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop has continued her high-level visit in Washington DC with key members of US President Donald Trump's administration.

Ms Bishop met with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at the State Department on Wednesday.

On Tuesday she had her first face-to-face meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence.
