Jury retires in Vic escort murder trial

The jury in the murder trial of a Melbourne man accused of killing a sex worker has retired to consider its verdict.

A jury has retired to consider its verdict in the trial of a Melbourne man accused of the murder of sex worker Johanna "Jazzy O" Martin.

Steve Constantinou, 49, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms Martin at his Port Melbourne apartment in October 2011.

The prosecution says Constantinou murdered Ms Martin to avoid repaying a debt but he claims the 65-year-old died in a sex act gone wrong.

A Victorian Supreme Court jury retired on Thursday afternoon to consider its verdict.
