Salford's former NRL winger Justin Carney has been given a two-match Super League ban after being found guilty of making contact with a match official.
The 28-year-old former Canberra and Sydney Roosters player was charged by the Rugby Football League's match review panel with making either deliberate or reckless physical contact with referee James Child.
The incident happened in the 36th minute of his side's 30-20 win at Huddersfield last Thursday (Friday AEDT).
Carney denied the grade C offence but was found guilty by an RFL independent disciplinary panel at a hearing in Leeds and was fined STG300 ($A490) as well as being suspended for Friday's game at Leeds and the Red Devils' next match against Warrington on Saturday week.
Carney was supported at the hearing by his club but owner Marwan Koukash suggested there is unlikely to be an appeal.

"Very disappointing to lose Justin Carney for two games following this evening's RFL hearing," Koukash tweeted "We just have to accept it and move on."
