Kaepernick talks with NFL Broncos: report

The Denver Broncos have reportedly met with San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick to discuss a trade.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has reportedly met with Denver Broncos NFL general manager John Elway as a trade remains a possibility.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Kaepernick met with at Elway's house on Thursday.

Kaepernick and Elway have met at least twice since March 15, the newspaper reported.

The quarterback has spent his offseason rehabbing his left shoulder, right thumb and left knee in Vail, Colorado, which is about 100 miles from Denver.

The 49ers have granted Kaepernick's agents permission to seek a trade.

Kaepernick's $US11.9 million ($A15.5 million) base salary for the 2016 season became guaranteed with the 49ers on Thursday.

According to reports, the Broncos are interested in trading for Kaepernick but only if the 49ers quarterback accepts a pay cut.

After Peyton Manning retired and heir-apparent starter Brock Osweiler bolted to the Houston Texans, the Broncos acquired veteran Mark Sanchez from the Philadelphia Eagles last month.

Trevor Siemian, a 2015 seventh-round pick who didn't play a snap as a rookie, also is on the Broncos' roster.

Meanwhile, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis made a return trip to Las Vegas as he continues to explore options and flirt with other cities if he decides to move his team.

Davis toured UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium on Friday to evaluate whether the school could serve as a temporary home for the Raiders if a deal is ultimately reached to build a new domed stadium a few blocks off the Las Vegas Strip.
