As the Kangaroos head west for their preliminary final against the Eagles, here is how they have fared in finals under coach Brad Scott.

NORTH MELBOURNE IN FINALS UNDER BRAD SCOTT

2012

* Elimination final - lost to West Coast by 96 points, Subiaco

West Coast were ruthless in front of 41,790 screaming home fans, kicking the first nine goals.

2014

* Elimination final - beat Essendon by 12 points, MCG

Trailed by 33 points. Key forward Drew Petrie's kicked two late goals to seal the win.

* Semi-final - beat Geelong by 6 points, MCG

Just held on after Cats rallied from a 25 points down at three-quarter-time.

* Preliminary final - lost to Sydney by 71 points, ANZ Stadium

Buddy Franklin kicked five goals and Kurt Tippett four.

2015

* Elimination final - beat Richmond by 17 points, MCG

Broke Richmond hearts in front of more than 90,000 at the MCG.

* Semi-final - beat Sydney by 26 points, ANZ Stadium

Another strong midfield display from the Roos ended Sydney's season.
