Keenan declines comment on Jabar report

Justice Minister Michael Keenan has declined comment on reports that the teenage killer of a police worker was in touch with top IS recruiter Neil Prakash.

Justice Minister Michael Keenan has declined to comment on a report that teenage gunman Farhad Khalil Mohammad Jabar was in communication with Australia's top recruiter for the Islamic State group months before he shot dead a Sydney police worker.

The 15-year-old was also in contact with two other men linked to Neil Prakash this year including British fighter Raphael Hostey, the recruiter's offsider in Syria, The Australian said on Wednesday.

"What we need to do is give the police the space to complete their investigations, it's not going to be helpful for me as justice minister to run a running commentary on that," Mr Keenan told reporters in Canberra on Wednesday.
