Key Bulldog hamstrung, Crows await scans

Western Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood will miss up to three AFL games after injuring his hamstring during Friday night's victory over Carlton.

Scans have confirmed the rebounding defender suffered a low-grade hamstring injury during the 21-point win at Etihad Stadium.

And in another major blow for the 15th-placed Bulldogs, key forward Jack Redpath is out for up to three months after undergoing knee surgery.

Redpath, who missed the Bulldogs' past two games, has had an operation to repair the meniscus in his knee and will miss 10 to 12 weeks.

Wood's injury is certain to exacerbate the lack of experience in the Bulldogs backline following the retirement of Matthew Boyd and Bob Murphy.

Key defenders Dale Morris (knee) and Marcus Adams (ankle) are both several weeks away from returning to senior action.

"(Wood) definitely won't play this week because we don't want to take any risks, but we expect him to be available in the next two to three weeks," club medico Chris Bell said on Monday.

Adelaide are meanwhile sweating on scan results for skipper Taylor Walker and Collingwood are hoping for the best after they lost two players in their loss to Richmond.

Ben Reid suffered an Achilles injury late in Sunday's clash with the reigning premiers at the MCG and James Aish hurt a posterior cruciate ligament.

Walker is the seventh hamstring victim at West Lakes this season, following Eddie Betts, Matt Crouch, Kyle Cheney, Kyle Hartigan, Sam Gibson and Lachlan Murphy.

The captain sat out the second half of Saturday night's 48-point win over Gold Coast while David Mackay (glute) was sidelined after three-quarter-time.

Adelaide remain hopeful Walker will be able to lead the side against Carlton next week.

Brayden Maynard rolled an ankle for the Pies but should be OK to play against Brisbane on Sunday.

The Pies will await scans to determine the severity of injuries to Reid and Aish.

In other significant injuries from round six, Fremantle's Michael Walters strained a medial ligament, Port Adelaide's Chad Wingard strained a hamstring and Melbourne's Jesse Hogan received a knock to a knee.
