* November 13 - Series of explosions rock Paris in the worst terror assault on Europe in a decade. 130 people killed, hundreds injured.
* November 18 - Belgian extremist and suspected mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud dies along with his cousin in police raid. Third body later found.
* November 20 - Authorities charge third suspect with two already behind bars.
* November 21 - Brussels placed in lockdown over "imminent threat".

* March 18 - Key Paris suspect Salah Abdeslam wounded, captured by Belgian police in Brussels after four months on the run. Two other men arrested.
* March 22 - Brussels hit by attacks on Zaventem airport and the city's metro system.
