Key moments as SA decides

South Australia is heading to the polls, after some interesting moments during the election campaign.

KEY MOMENTS IN THE SA ELECTION CAMPAIGN

* Jumping the gun. Opposition Leader Steven Marshall chose to officially launch the Liberal campaign two weeks before the writs for the election were issued.

* Labor's launch. A glitzy set-piece event that the Labor hierarchy do so well. The choice of Sia's song Titanium to mark the premier's arrival was inspired. "I'm bulletproof nothing to lose"

* Renewables. In the first week of campaigning, Premier Jay Weatherill promised the state would source 75 per cent of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2025, underlying his energy credentials.

* Sally Zou cheque. It dogged Mr Marshall for almost a week with the opposition leader forced to repeatedly state the Liberals had not received a $1.2 million donation from a Chinese businesswoman - not that there's anything wrong with that anyway.

* The ICAC report into the Oakden nursing home scandal, released during the second week of the campaign, damaged Mr Weatherill's chances but cleared two ministers of maladministration.

* Mr Marshall put in a strong performance at the ABC televised debate quizzing the premier on his response to the Oakden scandal and how to tackle the state's brain drain.

* The election commission. The authority in the last week of campaigning found Mr Marshall misled voters on how much his energy policy would save households.

* The last debate. Mr Xenophon is declared the winner of the Sky News-Advertiser People's forum, winning 30 per cent of the 106 undecided voters.
