Homicide detectives hope a mannequin dressed in the exact pink pyjamas and purple jacket Kiesha Abrahams had on the night she vanished will spark a much-needed breakthrough in the case.

But they admit there's now little prospect of finding the six-year-old alive.

Detective Inspector Russel Oxford has displayed the mannequin in western Sydney, urging the community to examine it carefully and report any sightings of the clothes.

Kiesha's mother, Kristi, told police the clothes matched the pyjamas and jacket her daughter was wearing when she was tucked into bed at their home in Mount Druitt on July 31.

By next morning Kiesha was gone and despite extensive searches no trace of her has been found since then.

Searches of the 90-hectare Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside about five kilometres northwest of Mount Druitt are continuing.
