Outspoken senator Jacqui Lambie wants the China free trade deal killed off because she believes Australian soldiers are under threat.

Senator Lambie says the "dangerous" and "unfair" agreement should be scuttled after warnings from a senior Chinese military officer against Australia's involvement in the South China Sea.

"At the very least, we should delay signing any deal with China until a guarantee is given that our sailors will be safe while they are acting peacefully in international waters," she says in a new video posted online.
