A former girlfriend of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has been killed by firing squad, according to reports.

Hyon Song-wol, a pop singer, had been accused along with 11 other members of her pop band, of filming themselves having sex and selling the videos, according to reports.

The public executions are said to have taken place earlier this month. Other members of North Korean pop groups are said to have been forced to watch before being taken to prison camps.

The singer was first identified as a romantic interest of Kim Jong-un in July 2012 after being filmed with him at a concert in Pyongyang, reports say. She is said to have vanished one month later.

Hyun Song-wol and fellow musicians were arrested on August 17, according to reports in South Korean media.

The dead are said to have been members of the Unhasu Orchestra and the Wangjaesan Light Music Band.

Hyon Song-wol was a member of pop group the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble. Her patriotic hits included “Footsteps of Soldiers”, “I Love Pyongyang”, “She is a Discharged Soldier”, “We Are Troops of the Party”, and “Excellent Horse-like Lady”.

Kim Jong-Un is said to have dated the singer during his teens, before being forced to break off the relationship by his father, Kim Jong-il.
