The Sydney Kings will consider former Brisbane guard Jeremy Kendle as an injury replacement for captain Kevin Lisch.

American Kendle has been brought into the Kings' training squad ahead of Thursday's NBL clash with the Breakers in New Zealand.

Kendle played seven games for the Bullets last season, averaging 11 points and 2.4 assists after being recruited as injury cover.

The 29-year-old scored 24 points in a game against Cairns in January.

Two-time league MVP Lisch is expected to miss up to two months of the season after scans on Monday revealed the severity of his torn calf.

He sustained the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's home win over Illawarra, forcing the Kings to consider their options with only one other experienced specialist point guard on their roster in Jason Cadee.

The Kings have been told they can expect 31-year-old Lisch to run at full strength after eight weeks, with emerging centre Isaac Humphries lamenting his absence.

"It's a big loss on the court, but it's a really big loss for our team off the court," Humphries told Fox Sports on Tuesday.

"He's such a good person. He brings so much out of us. He'll obviously be around but it's just a little bit different when he's not participating.

"It is a big loss but that happens in teams."
