In the midst of a worrying form slump, the Sydney Kings have suffered another setback with Julian Khazzouh's leg injury ruling him out for the rest of the NBL season.

After meeting with the Kings' medical staff and coaches over his quadriceps tendon injury, it was announced on Tuesday that the 30-year-old big man wouldn't feature at all this season.

Slipping to third on the ladder having lost five of their last seven matches, there was pressure on Khazzouh to get back to action as the NBL requires players to appear in a minimum eight games to qualify for the finals.

"We felt that the added pressure associated with the eight game minimum threshold was unhelpful to Julian's recovery process at this time," said Kings managing director Jeff Van Groningen.

Khazzouh has played 70 games for the Kings over three seasons, averaging 16.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
