Australian golfer Katherine Kirk finished her 2016 LPGA campaign in late August and went to work at husband Tom's financial firm.
It's safe to say she did not enjoy it.
"They needed some extra help with paperwork for literally four weeks, had to get dressed up, and I didn't like it at all," the Kansas-based Kirk said.
"I'd much prefer to put on a hat and be outside.
"It kind of gave me a little bit of a fresher perspective on golf and how good we've got it, (so) I managed to get back on the right track."
Kirk's office stint has seemingly done wonders for her game, with the 35-year-old Queenslander enjoying a major uptick in form on this year's LPGA tour.
A tour win in Michigan in July - her first in almost seven years - was followed by a third-place finish at this year's Evian Championship major.
She now heads into this week's New Zealand Women's Open in Auckland full of confidence, hoping to maintain her run of solid results.
To do so, she'll have to outdo a number of star golfers, including local hero Lydia Ko and major winners Brooke Henderson and Danielle Kang.
"Changed coaches at the end of 2015 and finally the changes are kicking in - obviously when your confidence is high, that helps in this game," Kirk said.
"A nice validation for the hard work, it kind of makes you hungry for more.
"I've got to keep working hard, and pace myself at the same time."
