Kiwis top rugby league rankings

The Kiwis will take the No.1 world ranking into rugby league's Four Nations title defence in England later this year.

Despite consecutive losses to England and Australia, New Zealand will still take the No.1 world ranking into their Four Nations title defence in England later this year.

The Kiwis lost 16-0 to the Kangaroos in May, suffering back-to-back defeats after losing their final Test against England 20-14 in November.

The loss gave England a 2-1 series win, their first since the 2007 Kiwis were thrashed 3-0 by Great Britain.

However, accumulated points from New Zealand's 2014 Four Nations triumph and last year's Anzac Test victory mean they still top the world rankings.

The Kiwis will face second-ranked Australia, world No.3 England and Scotland (ninth) in the Four Nations tournament, which begins on October 29.

Rankings: New Zealand 1, Australia 2, England 3, Samoa 4, France 5.
