Parramatta hooker Kaysa Pritchard has been taken to hospital in an ambulance with a serious knee injury.

In a further blow for the Eels, they could also lose former NSW forward Beau Scott for an extended period after he suffered an elbow injury.

Pritchard was taken from ANZ Stadium in a medicab after he was hurt in a tackle midway through the first half of the Eels' NRL clash with St George Illawarra on Sunday.

Eels coach Brad Arthur was still unsure of the severity of the injury after the match.

"He was in a bit of pain," Arthur said.

"He wouldn't let the guys have a look at him so I'm not real sure, to tell you the truth."

The Eels have the bye next week but any long-term injury would present a significant worry for Arthur.

First-choice hooker Isaac De Gois is already sidelined indefinitely with a long-term concussion injury, with playmaking utility Will Smith again forced to play big minutes out of dummy-half on Sunday.

The Eels are already without David Gower (hand), Josh Hoffman (knee), Frank Pritchard (foot), Kirisome Auva'a (knee) and Peni Terepo (pectoral) after a difficult run on the field.

Kaysa Pritchard has endured a horrid run with injuries in his five-year NRL career, including twin pectoral injuries in 2015.

Meanwhile, Scott will go for scans after he was taken from the field midway through the second half against the Dragons, clutching at his elbow.

"I don't think he's likely to be playing straight away," Arthur said.
