Koski stars, Renegades claim last-ball win

It was the stuff of backyard cricket fantasy for Claire Koski as the Melbourne Renegades claimed a drama-charged last-ball WBBL win over the Adelaide Strikers.

The Melbourne Renegades have collected one of the most dramatic wins in the short history of the WBBL with Claire Koski scoring the four runs required off the final ball to secure victory over the Adelaide Strikers.

Needing eight off the final over, the Renegades managed four singles off the first five balls before Koski managed to swipe Sophie Devine to the square-leg boundary at St Kilda's Junction Oval.

Koski (39 not out) and Erika Kershaw (30 not out) perfectly engineered the run-chase with an unbroken 62-run stand off 46 balls.

English opener Dani Wyatt kept the Renegades' innings together during the early stages of Saturday's game with an impressive 62 off 47 balls.

Earlier, the visitors went about their innings in impressive fashion after winning the toss. They eventually posted 7-153 off their allotted overs.

Captain Suzie Bates top-scored with 54 off 44 balls, while Devine (39) and Tahlia McGrath, who whipped up a whirlwind 33 off 20 balls, helped set the home side a challenging run chase.

Sophie Molineux, Molly Strano and Georgia Wareham collected two wickets apiece amid a flurry of runs and wickets in the latter overs.
