Carlton remain hopeful Matthew Kreuzer and Levi Casboult will make shock returns in Sunday's AFL clash with Geelong, having included the injured duo in their final side.
Kreuzer and Casboult have missed just one game after suffering serious setbacks in the Blues' round-eight win over Port Adelaide.
Ruckman Kreuzer (torn meniscus) had been initially listed to sit out three or four rounds but the club insists he has recovered well ahead of schedule.
Key forward Casboult was set to miss up to two months with a hairline fracture in his left leg but follow-up scans revealed it was actually a depression on the tibia.
Both big men trained well on Friday and coach Brendon Bolton was upbeat they'd be right to face the Cats.
"They got through a good session this morning and we'll have another run in a day or two and see how we go," Bolton said.
"It'll be more about jumping and landing and a lot of the specific work that the talls do.
"There's still 48 hours but we're hopeful.
"We'll just make an informed decision."
Carlton dropped Daniel Gorringe and Liam Jones following their loss to North Melbourne.
The Cats made three changes, recalling Tom Lonergan, Jake Kolodjashnij and Billie Smedts in place of Daniel Menzel (soreness), George Horlin-Smith and Jed Bews (both omitted).
Veteran defender Lonergan missed Geelong's shock loss to Collingwood because of concussion.
The Magpies named an unchanged side for Sunday's MCG clash with Western Bulldogs, although Jesse White could be a late withdrawal because of an ankle concern.
Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge made five changes after his team's loss to Greater Western Sydney, headlined by the return of former Hawthorn defender Matthew Suckling.
Suckling, who hasn't played since round five because of an ankle injury, has been promoted alongside Matthew Boyd, Marcus Adams, Jack Redpath and Josh Dunkley.
Koby Stevens (abdominal) and Lin Jong (suspension) were both enforced omissions, while Kieran Collins, Bailey Williams and Jed Adcock were axed.
Meanwhile, West Coast confirmed Lewis Jetta would return on Sunday against Gold Coast.
The Eagles called up Jetta and Thomas Cole in place of Elliot Yeo (quad) and Andrew Gaff (concussion).
The Suns regained skipper Gary Ablett, Steven May, Tom Nicholls, Clay Cameron and Aaron Hall.
But the expansion club's rotten injury run continued with Darcy MacPherson (knee), Sam Day (hip), Daniel Currie (finger), Jarrad Grant (hamstring) and Callum Ah Chee (concussion) all enforced omissions.
