Albanian born singer Ermonela Jaho knew from the age of 14 she wanted to be an Opera singer, after seeing La Traviata sung in Albanian.

Ms Jaho enrolled in a specialist music school in the capital, Tirana.

From there her talent was spotted and she was invited to study in Italy.

She had to leave Albania and her family during the fall of communism and knew if she wanted to fulfil her dream she would never be able to return.

She has now played the character of Violetta more than 240 times around the world and says her passion grows more with every performance.
