Labor announces funding for Australia Zoo

The Palaszczuk government would give Australia Zoo $140,000 for its animal hospital and koala habitat works if it re-elected to government.

A re-elected Palaszczuk government would give Australia Zoo $140,000 to support their animal hospital and koala habitat preservation works.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk travelled to the zoo on day 26 of the Queensland election campaign to announce the funding, which she said was vital to ensuring the zoo could continue to care for injured wildlife.

The premier also spruiked her plan for the Sunshine Coast, including the already-announced extra 260 nurses for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and a $15 million contribution to the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Submarine Cable project.
