A local Queensland Labor branch has formally called on rogue backbencher Jo-Ann Miller to resign over her criticisms of her own government, and is calling on other branches to do the same.

Ms Miller has faced condemnation from within the party after she compared the Palaszczuk government to the corrupt practices of the Bjelke-Petersen era.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has brushed off the comments as "just Jo-Ann being Jo-Ann".

But Rockhampton's Park Avenue branch on Friday passed a motion calling on Ms Miller to "relinquish her endorsement" for the seat of Bundamba at the next election.

Branch spokesman Dan Coxon said Ms Miller's comments were not representative of party rank and file, as she had claimed, and that her remarks amounted to a "free kick" for the Liberal National Party opposition.

Mr Coxon has sent a letter to Labor's state executive and requested they distribute it to other branches.

"We hope you will join us in supporting those maligned by Ms Miller and agree with our call on her to relinquish her endorsement," it said.

"Ms Miller is consumed with malice and self interest and is using these tactics to bully the government into putting her back into the ministry from which she was removed for incompetence."

Ms Miller used parliamentary privilege to accuse Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and cabinet ministers of ignoring corruption allegations relating to former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale.

Responding to questions about the branch revolt, Deputy Premier Jackie Trad said: "Local branches have an opportunity and a right to discuss whatever they want in terms of the Labor party, its policies and the direction that we set."

Meanwhile, One Nation says it would welcome Ms Miller into the party if she chose to defect.

"She's prosecuted the Labor party more so than the LNP have done in 18 months, in 48 hours," state leader of One Nation Steve Dickson told AAP.

"She's the sort of person that we could do with."
