Labor condemns coalition over infighting

Labor has sought to condemn the coalition government, via a motion in parliament, over focusing on itself after weeks of infighting and a leadership coup.

KEY CRITICISMS LEVELLED BY LABOR:

* Coalition shut down the House of Representatives two weeks ago.

* Coalition MPs deposed Malcolm Turnbull, but no-one can explain why.

* Government continues to be wracked by infighting and leaking.

* Prime Minister Scott Morrison claims he remained loyal to Turnbull, but Liberal colleagues say he had been plotting for some time.

* Morrison has described his own government as a "Muppet Show" and his own colleagues as Muppets.

* Government members can't be trusted to look out for the interests of the Australian people.
