Labor flags child care policy release

Federal Labor will focus on the cost of child care under its policy set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Federal Labor is poised to announce a policy it says will make child care affordable.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten flagged the release of Labor's policy on Sunday, saying he'd have more to say in coming days.

He told reporters in northern NSW town of Kingscliff the plan would be about making sure child care was affordable to encourage more women back into work.
