Months after the health department was asked to consider adding eating disorders to the Medicare scheme, no advice or costings have been provided.

On World Eating Disorders Action Day, Labor's Julie Collins and Deborah O'Neill claimed that a commitment by Health Minister Greg Hunt, in March, to consider adding eating disorders to the Medicare benefits scheme had gone unmet.
"The government is over-promising and under-delivering in relation to supporting Australians with eating disorder treatments. Minister Hunt must match his words with real action for Australians living with an eating disorder," they said in a joint statement on Saturday.
